Tuesday night music: Langhorne Slim! Cancer Bats!

Posted By on Tue, Aug 3, 2010 at 12:40 PM

A delightfully charismatic folkie, Langhorne Slim plays to the all-agers tonight at Empyrean. And though we've always enjoyed his recordings, we hear it's onstage where Slim really shines. Read Tiffany Harms' story about the man here and check him out with Enola Gay and Sandpoint's Josh Hedlund at 7 pm. Eight bucks to get in. (Directions and more info here.)

Check out this video of Slim performing on Letterman:

Also, we just got word that Cancer Bats set up a last minute show here in the 'Kan on their way over to Seattle.

Apparently they were supposed to play the Seaside, but we hadn't heard about that either. Final word from T.C. over at the Cretin Hop is that they'll play with FAUS and Reinkaos tonight at 8 pm. Cancer Bats have been getting shit-tons of press lately — mostly because they dared to cover the Beastie Boys song "Sabotage" (a hardcore cover of the track that the Beastie Boys were not happy about). But it got them a lot of attention, so… I guess it was a good plan? Tonight's show is all ages, and costs five bucks at the door. Watch the video for Sabotage below:
