Oven thieves strike — Twenty-one vacant homes in south Spokane Valley have been broken into November, according to realtors, who say burglars breaking the lock boxes and then come back to steal ovens. (KXLY)

If you're gonna run somebody down... — ... don't leave your license plate behind. The Valley police department says motorist Steven A. Black fled the scene on Saturday after hitting a teenage pedestrian (who is in satisfactory condition) but inadvertently left some identifying information. (SR)
