Tonight is the second of six public meetings the city is hosting to get citizen input on its parks and streets tax plan. The city is proposing a park bond and street levy, which would not increase the amount of taxes citizens are currently paying, but, by paying off and refinancing other debt, would fund new street repairs and improvements to Riverfront Park. Read more about the plan here or on the city's website here.
The first meeting was held Thursday and video of that is available below. Tonight's meeting will be at Jefferson Elementary (123 E. 37th Ave.) at 6:30 pm.
Similar meetings will be held:
Thursday, May 22, at West Central Community Center (1603 N. Belt), at 5:30 pm.
Tuesday, May 27, at Lidgerwood Elementary (5510 N. Lidgerwood St.), at 6:30 pm.
