• Three overdose deaths in three hours on Wednesday in the Spokane has law enforcement warning of a "lethal batch." However police declined to identify the type of drugs that apparently contributed to the deaths. (Spokesman-Review

• Community members criticize Mayor David Condon and temporary SPD leader, Jim McDevitt, for lack of transparency and racial bias. 

• At least five people are dead, and at least three more are injured after gunmen opened fire on a backyard party in a Pittsburg suburb last night. Police are still looking for the shooters. A motive is not known at this time.
