BEST TV REPORTER

Dana Haynes, KHQ

It's "Dan-Na," not "Day-Na". However you pronounce it, Dana Haynes likes to be in the thick of the action. "What I like about my job is, it's soup to nuts," she says. "I cover everything from hard news — I was in on the serial killer coverage — to things like getting to cover the 'Zags on the road."

Haynes graduated from Washington State University in 1991, with a degree in broadcasting. After working for an ABC affiliate in Boise, she signed on with KHQ five and half years ago. Now, besides her reporting, Haynes also anchors the 4:30 pm newscast.

Haynes says that here in Spokane, "We have a very busy news life. There's a lot going on in this town. Because of that, it makes covering news exciting."
