Best Place to Meet a Blind Date

As anyone can tell you who has ever sat there nervously waiting for a blind date to show up, it's all about location, location, location. What you want out of a good blind date meeting spot is the kind of place that does double duty, the kind of place that works no matter what the date's outcome. Cheap and public are a few words that come to mind, and in this regard, Starbucks is perfect. There's also the fact that Starbucks is something of a way-station, so in the event that your blind date does not in any way resemble either his personal ad or your cousin's glowing recommendation, you can hang out for a polite 20 minutes and then look at your watch and "realize" that you're late for your next appointment. The really nice thing about Starbucks is that it works just as well the other way. The lighting is very flattering for a variety of skin tones, the tables and chairs are arranged for cozy conversations, and if you discover that you've just met the love of your life, you can hide your flushed cheeks over a steamy Macchiato and linger for hours and hours.
