I would choose CDs that could take me to another place and time, far away from the sounds of the surf washing onto the shore endlessly. Away from the harsh sun that disappears only to be replaced by the cold night air and a wet breeze. So, where would I go in my head and what CDs could take me there?

I will always remember watching the sun set into the canyon at the Gorge Amphitheater while listening to Jewel sing "You Were Meant For Me." For this reason I would have to take Jewel's first hit CD, Pieces of You along with her lead guitarist Steve Poltz's One Left Shoe. (He opened for her singing "Everything About You" from the movie Notting Hill.)

Trisha Yearwood's Songbook is a collection of some of her greatest works. "She's In Love With the Boy," paints a picture of love in my head and reminds me of when I saw her live.

Every time I hear "I Will Survive" off Gloria Gaynor's I Will Survive: The Anthology Album, I remember lip-syncing it with my girlfriends at college parties. Plus, the song might give me motivation to live.

Van Morrison's The Masters album provides me with more memories than I could list. I don't know how many times I've danced to "Brown Eyed Girl" and "Midnight Special."
