I assume I'm going to be supplied with unlimited quantities of batteries for my boombox, right? Ok, with that out of the way, I've picked five albums that I think are essential to my well-being.

Bob Dylan made some great records, but if I were only allowed to choose one, it would have to be Highway 61 Revisited. The whole thing is terrific, but "Like a Rolling Stone" is the song that changed everything in rock. Tex-Mex garage punk anyone? Give me ? and the Mysterians (the best band name EVER) and that cheesy organ of 96 Tears. Johnny Cash at Folsom Prison has got to be the man in black at his most rocking and soulful. It's a live album that was recorded in a penitentiary -- need I say more? Did I mention it rocks? Two of my favorite Marc Bolan songs, "Jeepster" and "Bang a Gong (Get It On)" can be found on the T. Rex album, Electric Warrior. This glam rock monster is dirty-sweet. Finally, The Who Sell Out is a really funny concept album (there aren't many of those around) by The Who. It's full of bogus AM radio ads and tons of great songs that stand on their own.
