It’s been a few years since
we last celebrated the Inland Northwest’s talented community of poetry-inclined wordsmiths, so we’re going to do it again this spring and you’re invited to be part of it.
We’re inviting all poets — published and unpublished, young and old, print-focused and spoken word — to submit poems for consideration, works that embrace themes of “spring” and/or “renewal.” Guest editor Thom Caraway, Spokane’s first city poet laureate, will tackle the daunting task of reading all the submissions and choosing which works will be published.
When we last published a
poetry issue in 2016, we included 12 poems out of more than 500 submitted, and those selected came from a combination of new voices and established, familiar names. We’re hoping for a similarly wide-ranging and powerful collection of work again in 2020.
The deadline for submissions is Sunday, March 1. Please send up to three poems no more than two pages in length each to
[email protected]. And please submit your poems on one document if you're sending more than one.
Again, that email is
[email protected], the themes are "spring" and/or "renewal," and the deadline is Sunday, March 1. Happy writing!
