Smell the digital roses. It’s time for another Virtual First Friday Art Walk

Another First Friday is here, and you can correctly assume that it will be all online once again.

The May 1 Virtual First Friday is from 10 am to midnight. This art "walk" promises a bigger lineup than April’s Virtual First Friday, now that artists and curators have had a little more experience running a virtual show, Spokane Arts Program Manager Mika Maloney says in an email.

Here's what to expect:

May 1 Virtual First Friday Lineup

Spokane Arts events:
  • An online gallery featuring work by local artists. Viewers can find the gallery by going to the Spokane Arts website. It will be available throughout the month of May.
  • Panel discussion, "Creative Urgencies: Art, Networks, and Collective Care": Artists Azzah Sultan, Jessy Earle, Mary Welcome and moderator June T. Sanders will present short artist talks, followed by a Q&A, discussing ideas around community-based and new media-driven art practices. The panel begins at 5 pm. Find the event at this link. (A link to an online meeting will be available on Friday morning.)
