Big Bad Sue -- Do you ever think about how much liquid could fit inside of your head? Probably not -- and it's likely that Sue didn't either. Sue was a big lady, too. But, in fact, her head could only hold about a quart of milk (or soda, or juice...). She's the largest, most complete and best-preserved Tyrannosaurus Rex skeleton to ever be discovered -- and her 67-million-year-old bones were found here in the U.S. in 1990. Christopher Brochu, a geoscience professor from the University of Iowa-Iowa City knows Sue pretty well, and will speak about the details of the old broad on April 14 at 7 pm in Spokane Community College's Lair Auditorium.





More Best Of Fallout -- In last week's issue we pointed out a few business names we misspelled, and we just wanted to set the record straight that North Idaho's City Perc is spelled with a "c" as in "percolate," not with a "k" as in "The Inlander staff is extra perky when they've had their coffee."


Also, for the nice young man who called Buzz Bin HQ over the weekend chastising us for "giving" awards to the chains (Olive Garden and Red Robin were two you mentioned) -- it's not our pick. Books Not Buttercream -- The Davenport's candy shop is soon to go the way of the Stegosaurus and the eight-track tape. In its place, opening May 1, is a miniature, hotel-sized version of Auntie's Bookstore, which owner Chris O'Harra says will offer such traveler-friendly reading materials as bestsellers, magazines and regional titles.





Switched! -- Have you ever wanted to trade lives with someone else? Well that's exactly what NIC automotive technology student Steve Nichols did when the ABC Family Channel visited Coeur d'Alene this past December. Switched is the Family Channel's new reality TV show in which "two complete strangers from different locations and walks of life" switch lives for a week or two. Nichols, who traded places with the lead singer from popular Portland band My Regrets, suddenly found himself in the recording studio with a new punk 'do and a temporary tattoo. Nichols' replacement, Caleb, in the meantime, spent his Switched time helping Nichols' wife run her at-home daycare before heading off to NIC's auto tech program. The episode airs this Sunday night at 7 pm on the Family Channel.
