I enjoyed reading Bridget Jones's Diary by Helen Fielding -- however, if I am sick in bed with a cold or flu, this is the kind of movie that I would want to watch. It is funny, sexy and most of all, human.

Renee Zellweger is a true comedienne and hopefully will continue to get the attention she deserves -- Nurse Betty was a good start. Here she fumbles an introduction badly (making for one of the funniest scenes in the entire film), reminding us who among us isn't uncomfortable with public speaking.

This film has a cad and he is played well by Hugh Grant, and he gets what he deserves. Colin Firth is the guy in the background waiting to make his move and he stumbles a lot, which makes you care about him in spite of his initially stiff, condescending manner. Bridget has friends -- Tom, Shazzer and Jude -- who are there for her no matter how things are going.

Bridget's life isn't perfect. She is human and about 90 percent sure of herself. She just needs a little help from her friends, and in the end she gets her break. A very funny and entertaining movie.
