Shutdown or emergency declaration seem likely amid stalemate
Talks over border wall funding continue to stall, with a potential government shutdown looming at the end of the week. With meetings scheduled with top advisers for early in the week, it looks like President Trump, citing unbudging Democrats, might try to declare a national emergency to try to force funding for the wall, the New York Times reports.

Gonzaga Prep opts to purge KKK photo from old yearbooks
Gonzaga Prep has apologized for a photo of students dressed as KKK members in the 1968  yearbook, and said it would redact the image from its archival copies, but the local NAACP president disagrees with the tactic of trying to erase what happened rather than owning it, the Spokesman-Review reports.
