Spokane City Council to consider new tenant protections

Spokane City Council will look at new requirements for landlords to ease tenant issues in a tight rental market, including requiring landlords who jack up their rent steeply to give financial help to tenants who have to relocate, as well as requiring specific causes be listed on evictions, the Spokesman-Review reports.

Lawmakers to get Shea report Monday
An investigation into whether Spokane Valley Rep. Matt Shea promoted political violence will be delivered to lawmakers on Monday and is expected to be released to the public within weeks, the Spokesman reports.
