Cursed -- There were reputedly no screenings for this Wes Craven mishmash of werewolves, teenagers and Christina Ricci -- often a sign the studio has no faith in it. A brother and sister, still grieving the untimely death of their parents, get into a nasty car accident where somehow they get infected with the toothy/hairy/full-moon blues. Rated: PG-13





Diary of a Mad Black Woman -- Comedian/writer Tyler Perry dons shapeless drag as Madea, a sassy older lady with plenty to say. The real mad Black woman here is Helen (Kimberly Elise) whose marriage of 18 years collapses and she's left with nothing but a moving van and a whole lotta bitterness. Ain't nothin' a few old friends and a hot new guy on the scene can't fix. Rated: PG-13





Man of the House -- Oh, the humanity... Five bouncy, bubbly college cheerleaders witness a murder and veteran FBI agent Tommy Lee Jones has to go undercover as an assistant coach in order to protect their safety. Cinematic highlights to look forward to are: Cedric the Entertainer blowing out the seat of his pants, Tommy Lee Jones looking bemusedly at a veritable Victoria's Secret inventory drying on the shower rod and, of course, the obligatory slumber party/let's-give-the-grumpy-old-guy-a-makeover-with-facial-mask-and-cucumber-slices scene. Rated: PG-13





Mysteries of the Nile -- The quest to find the origins of the Nile has consumed explorers for centuries. And even once the source was found, no documented single excursion from source to sea has ever successfully been undertaken. Until now. Expedition leader Pasquale Scaturro and his partner Gordon Brown lead two rafts, one kayak and a team of IMAX crew members down the 3,260 miles of rapid, croc and hippo-infested waters. The trip takes 114 days but you'll see it all in 44 minutes, including plenty of information on how the culture of ancient Egypt was deeply entwined with the waters of the Nile.
