After a male cougar attacked a child at a park in the middle of Leavenworth, authorities found the animal and killed it, the Spokesman-Review reports. The child had minor injuries.

Spokane mom still missing
The Spokane County Sheriff's Office wants help locating Arezu Z. Kashify after she never picked up her kids from school on May 25 and her husband left the country on May 28, KXLY reports.

Not in their backyard
A plan to build affordable housing units near a church in Spokane Valley has been renewed, but just as they were several years ago when the plan first came up, neighbors in the area are arguing such a project doesn't belong in their neighborhood, the Spokesman reports.
