With a healthy amount of snowfall already this season, and favorable weather patterns in the forecast, many ski resorts are opening their slopes to skiers and boarders. We have the latest updates for your favorites.
Lookout Pass is currently running a regular Thursday through Monday 9-4 pm schedule after opening Nov. 27. With more snowfall forecast for the coming week, the majority of the mountain is predicted to open soon. “We’ve had a handful of regular ticket holders so far,” says Chris Barrett, marketing director with Lookout. “The snow was good at opening and it’s even better now. There was a bit of a wet start as we were preparing for the season and our snow kept washing off, but we’ve recovered with a firm base that’s groomed and well packed.” Twenty-seven trails and three lifts are currently open. In addition, Lookout is offering a season opening discount for all-day lift tickets, $33 for adults and $23 for juniors and seniors. Schweitzer Mountain Resort also had an early opening, welcoming resort goers on Thanksgiving weekend, and started with regular hours on Dec. 7. “Conditions are pretty good,” says Marketing Coordinator Sean Briggs. “We’ve had 75 inches of snowfall since the season began, and the turnout on Nov. 24 was great. It’s exciting to see people lining up again and gearing up for the season.” More information at schweitzer.com.
49 Degrees North and Silver Mountain also opened fully over this past weekend, while Mt. Spokane opened last Saturday and is set to run with its full schedule starting this week.
