21st Annual Spokane River Clean-up

Have you ever taken a dip in the Spokane River on a blistering summer day? How about a thrilling raft trip through the river’s rapids? Maybe you’ve stood atop the Monroe Street Bridge and gazed longingly at the river as it cascades down Spokane Falls. If you’ve done any of those activities, you should attend the 21st annual Spokane River Cleanup this weekend. For the past two decades, volunteers have removed thousands of pounds of garbage from the river to ensure it’s left in pristine condition. To ensure the same success as years past, the Lands Council, Spokane Riverkeeper and Spokane River Forum are working together to clean the river at four different locations. Volunteers are encouraged to bring their own gloves and to wear sturdy shoes.

21st Annual Spokane River Cleanup • Sat, Sept. 14 from 10 am-1 pm • Free • All ages • Locations vary • landscouncil.org
