Re: “Obscene Gestures

Peaceful protesting, voicing your opinion is NOT disrespectful and should not be disregarded. The protesting by all who booed and chanted at CMR should be gratefully acknowledged as a right of passage in the USA and accepted... especially with your national congressional representative in attendance. To ask for an apology on this is blatantly un-American in my opinion. This is a right within constitution that is as clear and unequivocal as the right to have firearms or the free press?

Re: “Obscene Gestures

Where was Cates when the 8th Man group flooded council chambers with disrespectful hostile references to "hookerville" and immigrants?.....Oh, she right there with them, wearing the t-shirt.

Re: “Obscene Gestures

Biviano, appealing to emotion instead of decorum, respect, or common sense. The usual nonsense; and they wonder why their message is being rejected.

Sounds pretty bipartisan. No?

Re: “Homeward Bound

There are lots of old and fancy church-like buildings full of people that vainly claim that they enjoy helping those in need. What a shame that they are hypocrites and while the houses of the "lord" stay vacant every night, Spokane's streets are teeming with those looking for a place to stay. I have always liked Mathew's vision of the Christ's words where it is how you treated the most vulnerable and weak in society and that is how you treat Jesus. From my point of view it seems that it is above board to treat Jesus rather poorly. I think that is funny in a sad sort of way.

Re: “Vaccine Haters

Googles searches on the internet do not require any scientific proof! Journal articles with meta analysis are your best source, not my sisters, cousin once removed dad's aunt said... So answer this one, if you get bit by a rabies infested animal, are you going to tough that one out and let your own immunity fight it off? Don't think so because rabies is 100% fatal without the vaccine. One other thing... just because Jenny McCarthy said it, doesn't make it true! Time and time again autism has been proven to not be linked to vaccinations, Rates of autism are going up, mostly due to increased awareness and better screening tools.

Re: “La Resistance

I am a mom, a taxpayer (yes I pay taxes) and a veteran with 20 years of active duty service. I have had the honor and privilege of serving in the MOST DIVERSE work force on the planet: the DoD. TODAY the DoD is comprised of the military, civilians (able and disabled), local nationals and all their families. I accept the new president as our president, but I do not accept his rhetoric and policies. Rhetoric and policies that are pitting Americans against fellow Americans. This is so very un-American to me. As we continue to backstab one another whether in person or on-line, our new president has only made minimal effort of any type of unification. I was really hoping to see that, but alas it has not happened and seems to be going in the other direction. It is his job to be a peacemaker for all living in our country. He works for all of us. I pray daily for peace amongst ourselves and thank the free press for providing vital information. Please stay true to your principles of neutrality and accurate facts without sway because we sure as heck haven't been getting much of that from WH. Live press conferences from the WH, White House, not some bar down the road, that have to be fact checked. Really? That kind of lack of professionalism was completely unacceptable during my time in service. Just baffling. I pray for peace amongst ourselves and pray for our precious Earth. It's going to need every bit of our prayers and actions. Peace be with you.

Re: “Global Outreach

Of course it hurts in state students. Every time we take a student from another country, it displaces one from this country/state. I know that diver$ity is the key here, since International students pay full price and then some for the "college experience".

A telling quote: We want this to be positive for faculty, staff and our community," Schulz says. Notice he doesn't mention students. Just faculty and staff first...and then "community".

Dollar-dollar bills y'all.

Re: “The Other Washington

Rep. Marcus Riccelli (3rd District): Name a highway, track child fitness, and address income discrimination for renters

...He's also introduced a bill to require school districts already required to mandate 100 minutes of physical education a week in grades K-8 to actually report details on how they're doing it back to the state.

Marcus...Really?? How much a kid weighs or how many sits up a child can or cannot do, is none of your business. Maybe we should track your personal life habits?

Re: “Patients and Prisoners

Its a great place to stick people if they see an officer involved death of a fifteen year old Ryan Holy, as they attempted to say Joseph Bodman never struck him for a year and a half. Its a terrifying place when your not crazy like Im not, as there is so very sick and dangerous people there. I know I was there, and thank God everyday they had a phycologist Dr. Brooks England Phd. who actually did her job. Once a label has been stuck on your screwed.

Re: “'Why Aren't They Digging?'

Law enforcement personnel (LEP) should be under the same scrutiny as if law enforcement was not involved in a shooting. This is a more serious case of the investigation not given the same scrutiny as others would have. Another case of a LEP getting off easier is when an officer in Idaho was over .20 bac in her private vehicle and ended up in a ditch. She got the same fine as others got as well as classes, but she kept her license and job. This is the same person that would be giving citations. I don't agree that all are bad, but there are cases that are. I have been given a break on a couple instances that were minor. They should be setting the example though.

Re: “Fighting Words

Mayor David Condon, Could You Imagine Your Child Being Hit By A Cop Car and Being Told He Just Fell Off His Bike?

Have you seen the picture of the face of Ryan Holyk after he got to the hospital? I spent seven minutes with the night of May 23, 2014.

The blow Ryan's head recieved caused so much bleeding the pooling blood wasn't allowing him to get air, as his face rested on the payment. I knew he would soon drown.

I told Charlie Price, I had to do something and chanced turning Ryan's head. I used my fingers and then a corner of a bar towel to scoop out a mass of blood and mucus so large. The bland taste of bone marrow hung in the air.

I have been forever changed by those seven minutes. I believe it was a miracle that Ryan ever regained consciousness, answering his mother's prayer that he would awake and know who she was.

Ryan was allowed to say goodbye and know what happened to him as he had no memory of seeing the car that struck him. Sometimes we only get a delay in what was to be, and not the reprieve from death that we hoped for.

God allowed me that part of my prayer that night as I looked up to heaven and asked God to help me make it better. I knew I couldn't ask for Ryan to live he was hurt so badly.

I told Ryan there was a God hoping my words and touch could reach him through pain and darkness he felt after his face was impacted by the corner of the bumper at sixty miles an hour.

The Community of Spokane and Spokane Valley held vigil hoping for a greater miracle that would never be. Others with darkness in their heart conspired to create an obstruction of justice under a dark color of law, hoping to hide the truth.

They violated a communities civil rights in the process, and hid material facts from Ryan family, Deputy Joseph Bodman, and every man woman and child of the City of Spokane and Spokane Valley.

Ryan was called home his injury too grievous, and way to young for those who knew and loved him to spend eternity with God.

Lord hear my prayer, help make this better as it's so wrong in so many ways. Help me make his better by learning the truth of how so many things went wrong, and how we can keep this from happening again.

When does an accident become a crime? When people lie and mislead and criminally interfere in a conspiracy to obstruct justice.

If you allow this practice of lying to protect from tort, over public safety, accountability, and civil rights, without stepping up and saying truth matters more than limiting liability. Your perpetuating a crime after the fact, and assume your own culpability and shame.

What's it going to take before you step up and demand truth and accountability, having your own child killed when they could have been spared? Shame on you all who knew the truth, but hid behind a lie.

It's just not right.

Looking forward to seeing the pedestrian bridge completed. It will have tremendous benefits to both E Sprague and the U District.

Re: “'Why Aren't They Digging?'

Whether a court of law ever disposes this Lesser-man as such, we can all agree that he is a murderer. Court's of "law" tend to enforce that mission rather meekly when swine are under the yoke, I wish this family luck. Justice would be Lesser-man selling his house to pay for legal bills, I hope they go after him personally.
