A favorite of Sandpoint's up-and-comers, the Downtown Crossing is headquarters for young literati, flush realtors, musicians and artists of all stripes. Despite a change of management, the place still has the allure it's always had, mostly because the "management" is one of those aforementioned literati (read young drunk). A comfy place, the DTC is casual enough for a can of Lucky Lager, but sipping absinthe (the only place in Sandpoint you can) wouldn't be out of the question. (LB)

If you’re in the Valley and not going to the unbelievably hot lounge at Mirabeau Park Hotel, this is your next-best bet. Plenty of space to dance, and the fish tanks magically transform into a mood-inducer after a few shots off the cheap wells. (TLM)

This rough and rowdy all-ages music venue on Monroe has it all: trash metal, electronic dance parties, mosh pits, and Pabst Blue Ribbon tallboys. It’s a home away from home for youngsters and a stage for Spokane’s loudest musicians. (July 2013)

If you need a break from the slot machines or need to work off that big meal you indulged in at one of Northern Quest’s restaurants, head to Impulse, the resort’s nightclub. Step up to the big horseshoe bar or get out on the dance floor during karaoke or DJ nights, then head back out to the casino floor for some more action. (July 2013)

Downtown’s biggest rock venue has won a loyal regional following. Amid the constant flux of the Spokane all-ages scene, the Knitting Factory has consistently worked to welcome young music lovers. Here, you’ll see everything from local music showcases to big national acts. It's pretty much THE place to catch mid-level to big-name touring acts. (July 2013)

This is a classy cocktail bar, with two big glass ribbons projecting slowly cascading digital waterfalls and a beautiful, three-dimensional topo map projecting upward to the ceiling located in the middle of the Northern Quest Casino. Sit down for a drink and play one of the video slot machines built into the bar. (July 2013)

Northern Quest Resort & Casino

Northern Quest has undergone a massive expansion — justifiably changing its name from "Casino" to "Resort and Casino." All the booze and buffets and blackjack you'd expect from a casino with added destination amenities, it's daunting how much new stuff is there).
