Do something: How to get involved in your community this week

The Fairmount Memorial Association hosts activities to honor those who've died serving their country. More than 3,800 American flags will decorate all seven of the properties, including Riverside Memorial Park, Pines Cemetery and Greenwood Memorial Terrace. Events throughout the weekend include veterans' displays, free refreshments, an honor guard flag folding and presentation, and Memorial Day ceremonies. May 27-29. Details at fairmountmemorial.com
