Lilac City Live! happens Thursday.

It's mostly holiday action in our event listings and Staff Picks, and there ain't anything wrong with that! Here are some highlights of the days ahead:

Monday, Dec. 11

COMMUNITY | Get thee to the Gaiser Conservatory Holiday Lights, an epic show every year at Manito Park and only an option for a limited time. A great way to spend a Monday.

Tuesday, Dec. 12

MUSIC | The Northwest of New Orleans crew throw a jazzy, snazzy Christmas music party at The Bartlett tonight. Get there and get in the spirit with Hot Club of Spokane, Rachel Aldridge and more!

Wednesday, Dec. 13

FOOD | Join the gang at Batch Bakeshop for an Edible Gifts Class, either tonight or Wednesday. It's not too late to whip up something tasty for the folks on your shopping list.

MUSIC: Darlene Love is simply a legend, with a career of delivering knockout performances for more than half a century. This is a Christmas show, so you know you'll get some killer carols, but plan on hearing some of her legendary early work, too. Read our interview with Love, and then give this a spin:

Thursday, Dec. 14

COMMUNITY | The downtown Spokane library hosts the debut of a new talk show, Lilac City Live!, on its Community Lens stage. It's free, there's beer and wine, and it features author Sharma Shields and music from Marshall McLean among other guests. Read our story about the show, hosted by Ryan Dean Tucker and Sean Glasow right here.

Friday, Dec. 15

THEATER | Freud's Last Session continues its run at Stage Left. Read our story about the intellectual showdown between Sigmund and C.S. Lewis.

MUSIC | The Bartlett Christmas Special is a treat every year, gathering some of the area's best musicians to perform both classic holiday tunes and originals. This year the performers include Chris Molitor, Windoe, Runaway Octopus and more.

Saturday, Dec. 16

COMMUNITY | Don't mind all those drunken Santas rambling around downtown tonight; it's just the Bad Santa Christmas Crawl.

MUSIC | It's the KYRS Holiday Party at the Big Dipper, featuring a whole bunch of local talent getting busy on some Christmas tunes and their own music.
