Re: “One Super Agency?

If you are mad about that, blame the Airway Heights Police Dept. and the Feds. This is from the Inlander's story, "Back on the Block".
Spokane County Sheriff Ozzie Knezovich says prostitution isn’t a priority for area law enforcement and won’t be any time soon.
So I don't know why you are mad at Ozzie for that. I also don't think it was "about money" because that stupid raid cost and will cost far more money than they could ever about wasting money, not making money.

Re: “One Super Agency?

Highlander, just because a Metro police could be setup does not ensure Ozzie being Sheriff again. There will be another Sheriff after Ozzie. If you don't like him, don't vote for him. You guys are wanting to throw out the whole idea based on some sort of conspiracy theory. Have you ever thought maybe, just maybe, he likes the idea because it is a good one? Or at least parts of it are good?

Re: “One Super Agency?

Stuckart and Councilman Jon Snyder say consolidation doesn’t take into account the differences between policing Spokane and the more rural parts of the county.
Oh do TELL!! I would love to see that debate......maybe Mr. Stuckart and Mr. Snyder could enlighten us and the Sheriff, on those "differences". Obviously, Sheriff Ozzie is too stupid to know what those differences would be. I mean, he has only been in law enforcement most of his life, what the hell would he know? The Ticket salesman and the Star Wars website guy know whats up when it comes to that.........please. Also, Stuckart might want to watch playing the "political gain" card, because it would seem that both he and Snyder are the ones going for political gain to craft their very own political "careers". Doth protest too much?

Re: “Occupying Politics

The State is drowning in debt and all anybody can talk about is gay marriage? Jesus. Privatize all marriage. Done and done. Oh, but you can´t really buy votes with such a stance can you? Now to more pressing matters....
"“In times like this, the government has to spend more,” he says. “Austerity won’t work in times like this.”"
If the government has to spend more to become prosperous...........wouldn´t we be prosperous NOW?!?!? In fact, it really wouldn´t matter WHAT the state spends money long as you are spending money. This is ridiculous. That stupid ferry system could have been privatized. You could sell these public golf courses. These are just a couple of small things that we could do so we can spend money on what is REALLY necessary. Focus on real priorities instead of vote buying garbage. (i.e. extended recess and candy machines in the hallways)
"Spitzer says he’ll be able to relate to people because he’s experienced financial hardship. As if to burnish his credentials, Spitzer says he’s currently on state health care."
While I am sure Mr. Spitzer is a very nice man, I believe his financial hardships would be of his own doing. A bachelors and masters in English is not exactly the path to prosperity. Especially for the money that is dumped into it. Now I know profs like to sell abstraction and critical thinking as a great skill set, but that is only to pay the profs bills.....not yours. So unless you yourself want to be a prof to sell another generation a load of just isn´t profitable in the least. I would suggest something in healthcare, hydraulics or even welding.
"“A lot of working people in Spokane, they don’t own a coffee chain,” Spitzer says, referring to Parker’s ownership of some Dutch Bros. stores. “They have a coffee cup, a refillable one that they probably refill at 7-11 or Starbucks.”
This is a confusing statement. So because Parker owns some coffee shops.....he gets free coffee? Only rich people go to Dutch Bros. while the rest of the proletariat only go to 7-11 and Starbucks?????

Re: “Animal House

Mr. Haeder. This does seem to be a case of "killing the messenger". After reading everything, I don't think it was how you described it that was the problem. People knowing that they killed a rabbit was the problem. So much so that Mr. Hansen received death threats from this? Wow. I personally do not think anything you wrote anything that was inciting. However, I do think Leah is insinuating the opposite.
