Re: “I-594 campaign for universal background checks releases its first TV ad

How many people who are for a "universal" background check have ever bought a firearm?

Any purchaser under this system must fill out an ATF Form 4473, which asks on the first page, full name and address, when and where born, height, weight, gender, race (now including White Hispanic), then 11 "we trust you to answer truthfully" questions such as: Convicted of a felony?, Fugitive from justice?, Using narcotics?, Mentally Defective?, Here illegally? Hardly any convictions when the criminals are caught lying, as "we don't prosecute paper mistakes", according to the ATF.

The second page is what the antis are really after - It asks: Type of firearm, ID (not needed to vote however), Manufacturer, Model, Serial Number, Type of firearm and caliber, etc.

Does anyone, Honest-to-God, think that this info, in light of the NSA scandals, will not be abused? obama's 2009 stimulus law also included information sharing among all Federal agencies.

When the 1968 Gun Control Act was first discussed, even the liberals admitted that "universal" background checks were tantamount to backdoor registration and that they only wanted licensed dealers to take that information. A year later they were screaming "gun show loophole", as they are now. (We are not dealing with ethical people here.)

Wake up people, any time the Left says it wants do do something for your safety, you can bet your last dollar that they really want to do it for some nefarious reason. In this case to create a database of all gun owners.
