Artisan Cutting Boards

Dave Ulmen has been a “tool guy” since he was a little kid, hanging out in his grandfather’s woodshop. Now a retired-teacher turned artisan craftsman, the Spokane artist creates laminated hardwood sushi, cheese, and cutting boards that have been sold all over the world. Recipient of the Artist of the Year award by Made in Washington Stores, Ulmen is showing a selection of his handcrafted wood items – cutting boards, coasters, and wine waves – at Wenaha Gallery through Jan. 26; open Mon-Sat 9 am-6 pm.
