In next week's issue, we'll give you everything you need to know about the upcoming football season. But before we transition into football, let's remember that there's still some meaningful baseball being played. The Spokane Indians clinched an appearance in the Northwest League playoffs by winning the first-half title. In Seattle, the Mariners — remember them? — have won enough games (many in dramatic fashion) to keep them in the American League wild-card chase. A few numbers* from the season so far:

42.9: The percentage of Mariners catcher Mike Zunino's hits this season that have been home runs. Zunino, who spent the season's first half in the minor leagues, has 21 hits — nine homers and 12 non-homers.

$1: How much you'll pay for a Pepsi, a hot dog or an ice cream sandwich at Avista Stadium on Friday, Aug. 26, as part of Yoke's Family Feast Night. First pitch is slated for 6:30 pm.

76: Number of home runs hit by Mariners slugger Nelson Cruz since he came to Seattle in 2015.

.340: Spokane Indians third baseman Xavier Turner's batting average before the Texas Rangers organization promoted him to the Hickory Crawdads in early August.

101 mph: The velocity of fastballs thrown by Mariners relief pitchers Edwin Diaz and Arquimedes Caminero this season.

* All statistics current as of Aug. 22
