Birds in the Nez Perce & Plateau Material Culture

Nakia Williamson, Director of the Nez Perce Tribe Cultural Resource Program, and Steve Grafe, Curator of Art at the Mary Hill Museum of Art in Goldendale, discuss how birds are incorporated into Nez Perce beadwork, weaving, and regalia and the cultural significance of birds to Nez Perces. This presentation coincides with Nez Perce National Historical Park's "The Birds and the Beads" museum exhibit which presentation attendees can also view the day of the talk.
