The festival offers introductory projects such as nail and hook making to learn the basics of traditional blacksmithing. Once those are achieved, newbies can join returning smiths and work on more advanced projects, like forging steer heads and spring latches and handles, and an open forge area for supervised individual projects. CFI is dedicated to cultivating blacksmithing in the Intermountain Northwest, exposing beginners to the craft and continuing to challenge returning members with progressively skillful projects. Sessions are capped at 24 students. April 27-28.
