Buddy Guy in Concert with Tom Hambridge

Trace the creative lineage of any number of iconic guitarists — Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Keith Richards, Jeff Beck — back to their roots and they’ll eventually converge at Buddy Guy. The 81-year-old bluesman, born and bred in Louisiana, has influenced several generations of musicians, and his approachable take on the genre bridged the gap between blues legends like Muddy Waters and Howlin’ Wolf and the new school of players. On top of that, he’s got killer technique. Guy was in the Inland Northwest last year with the Experience Hendrix Tour, performing the work of perhaps his most notable follower, and now he’s back with his own catalog. Old-school blues may not be en vogue, but Buddy Guy is working to keep the flame from being snuffed out.
