"Runaway Bride Strays Into White House Air Space" -- This headline and others like it ("Study: Some Star Wars Fans Have Sex," "Shark Attack Postponed Until Slower News Week" and our favorite, "Surprising Number of Americans Despise Raymond") will now be appearing each week in The Inlander. Andy Borowitz, writer, satirist and "winner of the National Press Club's first-ever humor award" will be reinventing the week's news to hilarious and Onion-esque effect. Picabu! I See A Mistake! -- Hoo-wee, did we make some mistakes last week in our article on Picabu Bistro, or what? First things first, no one (unless you're, like, really old) eats dinner before 6 pm - the time we listed as Picabu's weekday closing hour. The Bistro is open on Sundays through Thursdays from 11 am-9 pm, and Fridays and Saturdays until 10 pm. And that Joe guy we listed in the picture? Yeah, his name's John. He only owns the place. Finally, you might want to drop them a line - just in case, we've got anything else wrong here at 624-2464. We swear that's the right number. Really.





When Typos Get Vindictive -- For two weeks now, the sign outside the Rent-a-Center on North Division has read, "Donate to Big Bothers & amp; Big Sisters." Somebody needs to make a donation, all right -- they need to donate the missing "r". But who's to say the sistahs aren't just as much trouble as the bruthahs? And folks wonder why women volunteer more of their time than men.





A Place of Their Own -- The problem with being a tween (someone between the ages of 9 and 13) is, first and foremost, that you can't drive. That means your regular hangout is - more likely than not - one-half of a bunk bed and one-quarter ownership of the family TV. Fortunately the tweens of Cheney have a better alternative. The "Cheney Hangout," a project of Eastern Washington University and its Children's Studies Program, has just opened in the same building as Kafka Coffee at 402 Second St. Although the place is staffed by trained volunteers, the kids are the ones who really "own" the place. Activities include an XBox, books, an air hockey table, TV, games and lots more. And best of all, it's free. Call 359-4817.
