Second Harvest, partnering with INHS hosts a training and volunteer opportunity for health-oriented members of the community. Volunteers will attend a one-time training taught by professionals to provide them with skills for conducting pre-diabetes screenings with community members and clients served by food pantries in Spokane County. After the training session, volunteers working in teams will screen clients for pre-diabetes risk factors. Distribution times vary, with most taking place during daytime hours, Monday-Saturday. Eligible clients will be referred to a 16-week health promotion course.
