Re: “Tragedy of John Wayne

I am a member of the Spokane Bicycle Club and we ride the John Wayne Trail at least once a year from Rosalia to Tekoa and return on other railbeds and dirt roads. We've also gone from Rosalia to Malden and along Rock Lake. I've done the section from Cedar Falls to South Cle Elum through the Snoqualmie Tunnel. I've seen the section near Lind. I wish I could do more, all of it. Maybe follow the John Wayne Trail Riders wagon train. I wish it was in better condition. Look at The trail of the Couer d' Alenes. My other fantasy is a Ben Burr Trail (not a highway) that would connect Spokane to the John Wayne Trail and the John Wayne Trail going all the way to plummer and the Trail of the Couer d' Alenes.

Re: “[UPDATED] John Ahern, Mike Fagan announce bids for Spokane City Council

He should be running for mayor. He might have a chance of winning there. Or at least he would split the conservative vote so that someone who deserves the job can win. And we could uphold the one term mayor tradition.
