Chicago’s Black Arts Movement

Professors Thabiti Lewis and Pavithra Narayanan of WSU Vancouver, who directed BAM! Chicago’s Black Arts Movement, screen the documentary film on the WSU-Pullman campus (in the Fine Arts Building). The film, which draws on extensive interviews with Adams and many others, looks back at the history of Chicago’s BAM and reflects on the artists and institutions that have extended its impact in the decades since the Black Arts Movement was at its height in the city. Q&A with the filmmakers to follow.
