It's been sort of sleepy on the touring music front — that's January for ya — but the calendar is starting to fill up, and we've just been inundated with some exciting concert announcements. No doubt more will be coming.

On March 9, hard rock icons Tool return to the Spokane Arena, their first Inland Northwest stop since 2014. Last year saw the release of their album Fear Inoculum, which earned them some of the best reviews of their career. Tickets go on sale this Friday, Jan. 24. $65

The Arena has also slated Canadian rockers Nickelback to perform on Sept. 15, and they'll be appearing alongside Stone Temple Pilots and Switchfoot. Tickets are on sale this Thursday, Jan. 23. $39.50

Northern Quest Summer Concerts

In celebrating a full decade of outdoor summer concerts, Northern Quest Resort & Casino dropped some big names on their upcoming musical roster. First up are the Barenaked Ladies, who will headline on June 20. It'll be a full-on '90s celebration, with the Gin Blossoms and Toad the Wet Sprocket serving as openers. $49-$99

On July 10, hip-hop legend Ice Cube takes the stage. Expect a setlist comprised of solo hits and classics from his days with NWA. $49-$99
