Dear Hearts & Gentle People: Norman Rockwell in Words and Music

In conjunction with the Museum’s exhibition "Norman Rockwell’s America," Donivan Johnson and vocalist Phaedra Parker present a multimedia program on the influence of Rockwell on words and music. Featuring the enduring work of Robert Russell Bennett, the Four Freedoms Symphony (1943), which was commissioned by The Saturday Evening Post, along with Rockwell’s famous illustrations, and based on the immortal speech by President Franklin Delano Roosevelt.
