Haeder, thank you for the insight on what the city of Spokane did to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Earth Day. It sounds like there was a great deal of community support. I like that Kohl’s got involved and donated the blue bird houses as well, that’s really cool. We need more involvement like Kohl’s in the future. I am sure this past Earth Day will stay in the hearts and minds of Spokane. I hope that it will be the start of even more celebrations in the future. As you stated, “there were literally hundreds of Earth ideas popping up” I hope in reading this, it only means that every year the celebration will be bigger and more wide spread. I do agree we do need news coverage of this event to get more publicity and recognition about climate change and how important it is not just to us, but also for the next generations to come. The best defense is education and action with this subject, we need to learn what we can do to help, follow through and do it.
