Re: “Strong Arm of the Law

Hey David Elton...between Sensible and Hammer it looks like you´ve had both sides of your A@@ handed to you. You should let it lay and move on to another topic that you are equally unqualified to offer your uninformed, unsolicited and unwanted opinion on!

Justice is served...you are a certifiable wack-job! No wonder why you hate cops so much, Mr. Elton!

Extremely well-said, Sensible! You are worthy of your moniker...keep up the great work.

Wow, David Elton, you are something else. Are you seriously running for County Commissioner with an attitude like that? You are either delirious or a stark-raving lunatic. And, no, I am not in law enforcement...I just have a lot of respect for the kind of job these guys have to do and the kind of people that they interface on a daily basis. And the reason that I don´t post my name is that I don´t have time to listen to 300 voice mails spewing the same kind of drivel (and personal threats) that folks like yourself are posting on this site. A little piece of advice...you are a better keyboard commando than a county commissioner...give up the primary run and save yourself and many Spokanites the headache of having to read David Elton III on the primary ballot.

Re: “Strong Arm of the Law

Your journalistic style hearkens back to the the Rodney King incident...whereby you are the mainstream media uncritically transmitting a sliver of the clip of the police beating the "hapless" Rodney King mercilessly, but conveniently excluding the first part of the video showing King repeatedly resisting arrest (and tasering), even by force leaving the police exasperated in attempts to subdue him. Yes, perhaps excessive, unnecessary force was used in his case and some that you cite. You, however, fail to document and adequately describe the daily challenges police officers face by interfacing with a rogue element of our society which has no respect for authority or the law and continually fight to make the job of our law enforcement as difficult as possible. When an officer reaches his human limit and snaps, behaving in an improper manner (as we imperfect human beings are prone to do on occasion) the drive-by yellow journalists such as yourself are immediately at hand to document such horrible offenses against humanity.
How about gaining an education in reality and respect for those in public safety by volunteering to go along on a ride-along on a few evenings to see the world through their eyes? It would certainly open yours no doubt...and lend a much-lacking modicum of credibility to your journalism.
