Flicks for Fido
Drive-in movies are the new normal this summer, and next up on the local marquee is the Spokane Humane Society’s fundraiser event, Flicks for Fido. The event sort of replaces the nonprofit’s 17th annual Parade of Paws dog walk, tentatively rescheduled for this fall from its usual June weekend. The shelter is transforming the open expanse adjacent to its facilities into a temporary drive-in theater for showings of the first and second installments of The Secret Life of Pets on a 40-foot screen. Families can reserve a parking spot in advance, as there’s limited space; otherwise it’s first come, first served. Gates open at 8 pm both nights, and furry friends are welcome to attend. Prepackaged popcorn and other snacks are available for purchase to support SHS’s mission.

Sat, Aug. 8 and Sun, Aug. 9 at dusk • All ages • $40-$50/car • Spokane Humane Society • 6607 N. Havana St. • • 509-467-5253
