A few thousand Gonzaga fans showed up to the McCarthey Athletic Center to watch a broadcast of the NCAA men's college basketball tournament championship game between their team and North Carolina, which North Carolina won 71-65. This was also Gonzaga's first trip to the Final Four and the championship game. Gonzaga has been in the tournament 20 times total, and 19 years in a row with 18 in a row under head coach Mark Few.
