Research shows children facing adversity such as poverty, family conflict and child maltreatment in early development have negative mental and physical health outcomes through life. Gonzaga alumna and Associate Professor of Psychiatry and Pediatrics at the University of California, San Francisco, Dr. Nicole Bush provides an inside look into how and why adverse childhood experiences affect individual biological functioning, both clinically and socially. She will also discuss the emerging research and evidence to help reverse these harmful effects.
