The second installment of the "How It's Going, How It Started" series with WSU Associate Professor of History Dr. Clif Stratton, presenting “Protest Energy: Pipeline Resistance and the Lessons of History.” Stratton’s talk places into comparative historical context recent direct action campaigns against the expansion of carbon energy infrastructure as the climate continues to warm. Climate change may not have been at the forefront of earlier protest movements, but there is a long history of environmental, political, and economic concerns fueling global resistance to the dominance of the titans of coal and oil.
