Re: “A Nutty Gun Policy

Let's look at this topic with a rational set of eyes for a moment. What better way can we address and promote safety to an environment that already perpetuates underage alcohol consumption as a right of passage, than to compound that preexisting conflict of interest with firearms? We send our children to universities to learn and evolve into productive men and women for our society. We do not send them to these institutions to in order to exploit them for political posturing, nor to increase the possibility of tragic "accidents".

Rather than relying on yet still underdeveloped students to guarantee their own safety. Something we felt they were incapable of doing when we increased the drinking age to 21. by the way. How about we address the question of security as an institutional and or overall community issue instead. Because it was already introduced to the conversation, no one really thinks a rational answer to tackling sexual assault is to change the behavioral patterns of women. We see the question of personal security for young men and women as part of the conversation of security for our nation as a whole. If we reduce threats for everyone, naturally we reduce them for campuses as well.
