Re: “Spare Your Change

I have to agree with the "Give real change" campaign. It should be common sense not to give your money to panhandlers. With all of the homeless resources there are available in Spokane, WA. ( Check out www.spokanecares.org These resources feed, clothe, give shelter some will even do their laundry) there is no excuse for panhandling. I have no problem with feeding someone who is starving, but I WILL NOT GIVE A PANHANDLER ANY OF MY HARD EARNED MONEY. The panhandling issue in Spokane is getting way out of hand. I am sick and tired of being approached for spare change and being followed around a place of business until I either inform management or find a security officer. In the past four years, I have seen many small business' fold because of customers are intimidated by panhandlers and the business owners are legally powerless to do anything about it. Yes, Panhandlers are running off potential customers who may want to spend their money in a small business. Don't get me wrong, I feel bad for homeless people, but I hate it when they try to insult my intelligence by telling me you have a need, but in reality they want me to support their vices.
