Re: “Off to Camp

This was one of the coolest things I've done in years! The collective campout pushed my mind and creativity to the max. I learned so many new things that will assist me in my daily and my money on the side non-profit organizations. Thanks to all who helped put this on. I can not wait for next year.

Re: “The Central City Line chugs forward, despite ballot measure failure

Cool. From what I heard almost everyone that voted against was doing so because certain individuals kept talking about this one issue, the electric bus. I voted for the measure because I felt it was a step forward for Spokane. I am still waiting for lightrail but I do not think that will ever happen. I do not believe I will use the new electric buses but a lot of people will and it is important to support our cities infrastructure.

Re: “Still Number One

Wow, what BS! It is totally legal and as long as he is not stoned on the job there should be nothing wrong with it. I do not support drugs personally but weed and alcohol are equal in most ways and weed is better then alcohol in quite a few such as aggression and driving impaired. Much less accidents and fights with people who are stoned vs alcohol. I wish him the best!

Re: “UGA, Vestment and Sprawl: A video explainer

Wow, thanks for that great explanation. Almost sounds criminal how they are doing business.

Re: “STA's trying to figure out why, exactly, it barely lost the election

Dang, I was out of town last week and did not hear the results until today. At least our 2 votes were counted for the measure. Now they will have to spend more money to do another election. :( Mostly it was just anti big government "think tanks" swaying weak minded individuals :( It is too bad :(

It was a pretty great measure overall and would have helped a lot of people.

Re: “Washington Policy Center anything but non-partisan on Spokane trolley line

^Mark, this article is a rebuttal to an attacking article written by The Washington Policy Center about his initial article:… .

The electric trolly is a very tiny portion of the levy and that is why many are not giving it much thought. It requires Spokane Citizens to come up with 12 Million dollars(The total costs of the trolly is 80 million but it is mostly paid for by a federal grant) which is a little more then 10% of what the new tax will provide. I personally don't completely support the trolly but because it is rolled into this whole ballot measure, I will be supporting. We need to try something new. I have been wishing for a lightrail system for 20 years and I don't think the politicians in Spokane are ever going to get together to actually make it happen. I am curious if we will ever actually get a north south freeway, that has been over 60 years in the making. Some progress is good, so the trolly could make a difference.

One great thing which is also a curse of Spokane is we feel and act like we are a little town but the reality is that we are a rapidly growing city. I love the smaller town feel but we NEED to start preparing for big city issues. The transportation issues between the north side and south side of Spokane are going to really hurt in the next few decades as the city grows. Unless we magically start driving flying cars, we need a way to make transportation work better in our little town.
