Re: “Healing Forward

So much anger or downright hate, all caused by a self-serving, attention hungry woman. She was a liar and a good one, obviously. Is she doubting herself or her actions, no because people like her are always the victim, ready to excuse themselves of any of their poor choices. Instead we in Spokane doubt ourselves. "Are we fools? Are we gullible? Are we too nice?" The answer is no. Several local institutions (including the Inlander) dropped the ball on researching their employees and volunteers and I'm sure they have learned their lesson. But she was a conwoman plain and simple and like all con artists she was charismatic, minipulative and easy to believe. The shame here is all hers, not this community's. A little too nice is certainly not the worst thing that could be said about a any town.

Re: “The Rachel We Knew

I was wondering how much you knew of her Facebook posts speaking very derogitivly of Spokane, calling it "Whiteville" and insinuating that minorities are unsafe here. Whatever her race was her opinions were judgemental and inflamitory both on social media and your pages. The kind of attitude she displayed is poisonous to positive change in any community. However it happened I'm glad she's gone from the Inlander.

Re: “Media firestorm swirls around Rachel Dolezal, the local NAACP president

She's not doing her job or anything else "morally or ethically" if she's chosen to lie to everyone. She could have been a strong supporter of equal rights without lying. Not to mention the fact she applied to several jobs with false information, signing your name is a legal contract that what you have said is true, so that's technically a crime. What is more worrying is the fact that she has a history of making dubious claims of hate crimes. She seems like a woman desperate for attention and this was her way of getting it, munchausen by race. I feel she may have some pretty serious psychological issues.
