Karen Laub-Novak: A Catholic Modernist in the Age of Vatican II

The late painter, sculptor, printmaker and illustrator explored questions of faith and meaning with the formal expression of a true modernist. Works displayed encompass her career from the reforming era of post-war America, through Vatican II, and into the post-modern era of the 1990s. The exhibition also includes several series based on famous texts, including T. S. Eliot’s Ash Wednesday, Rainer Maria Rilke’s Duino Elegies, and the book of Genesis. Through Jan. 6; Mon-Sat 10 am-4 pm (closed Oct. 22-24). Artist talk Oct. 7 at 11 am with curator Gordon Fulglie.
