Dr. Laura Tedesco speaks about the shared heritage of Afghanistan, Uzbekistan and Pakistan from an archaeological standpoint and what connects these seeming disparate countries. Looking at the First Millennium CE abundant archaeological and material remains show rich traditions in culture, religion, and trade linked the vast region of Central Asia including Afghanistan. While there is not much written history of this fascinating period of a vast region not well known outside its borders, a closer look at a selection of archaeological and monumental evidence reveals rich cultural ties.
