When: Wednesdays-Sundays. Continues through Aug. 1 2021
The Ingalls family homesteader saga that’s captivated readers since Laura Ingalls Wilder’s nine-book series began publishing in 1932 is now getting the live theater treatment. Spokane Valley Summer Theatre’s sole mainstage show this season presents the regional premier of not just a staged version of Laura’s youth as her family travels by covered wagon across the Midwest in the late-1800s, but a musical version of Little House on the Prairie. Expect plenty of song and dance like you’ve never seen in this pioneer classic before, as Ma, Pa, Laura, Mary, Carrie and Grace move westward, from log cabins to a creekside dugout to a real house in town, where they eventually settle down at the family’s final stop in De Smet, South Dakota.
