While both men have had successful, independent careers, there’s no denying the link between longtime friends, Houston natives and college neighbors Lyle Lovett and Robert Earl Keen. It goes back about 30 years, when they co-wrote “The Front Porch Song,” which later appeared on their respective debut albums. Since then, Lovett has gone on to a long, Grammy-winning career full of genre experimentation, while Keen has forged a path of more straightforward roots-rock, country and folk. Expect some swapping of stories as well as tunes, as the buddies leave their bands at home for a night of solo acoustic music.
