Making the Legal Argument for Our Right to a Healthy and Livable Climate
When: Tue., July 11, 6-7 p.m. 2017
Spokane area residents filed a lawsuit against the federal government back in January 2017 for failing to protect the right to a livable climate and for obstructing the right to local self-government needed to secure necessary rights like that of a healthy climate. A hearing for the case is set for July 12; and before that, attorney for the plaintiffs, Lindsey Schromen-Wawrin, from the Community Environmental Legal Defense Fund, presents what this case is about and what can be expected from the federal government and the court.
